Check into an LED LCD TV to fit more picture in the same cabinet.

slim_frame_LED_televisionNeed to replace a TV that is housed in a cabinet that was made for an old square tube TV? Don’t want to replace or modify the cabinet but are worried about being able to fit a new, decent-sized widescreen TV into the same space?

You are in luck. Frames around television screens are getting thinner and thinner. Just a few years ago, we used to say, for example, a 32″ TV was roughly 32″ wide. In those days, the norm for the width of the frame around the screen was about 2″ (and still is for some sets today). Recently though, more models, namely LED LCD models are offering “slim frame” technology. Some of the frames around these screens are .5″ or less. This translates to a 37″ tv with a slim frame ending up to be roughly 34″ wide, or a 39″ being less than 35″ wide. What does this mean? You can fit a lot more screen size in the same cabinet. Be sure to check those “slim frame” models out when you are shopping and don’t rule out the next size up based on your cabinet dimensions until you have confirmed the exact width dimension of the new TV not just the size of the screen.
