An Apple TV is a terrific gift, especially for someone who owns a Mac, iPhone, iPad or iPod. At $99 plus the cost of an HDMI cable – even if you already own a “smart” TV, its ease of use and bulletproof reliability make Apple TV a worthwhile addition. Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, the convenience of being able to rent or buy movies from the iTunes store right on your TV and some more advanced features including Home Sharing (the ability to play media from computers on your network), Photo Streams from other Apple devices and mirroring your Apple device display on your TV screen using a feature called AirPlay make Apple TV very fun and useful.
