With story after story of smartphone and tablet thefts in the news, it can be very inconvenient and even scary to lose or have your device stolen. Luckily the “Find my iPhone” feature built into Apple iOS devices can be a lifesaver. Using it, you can view the location of your device, play a sound to help find it, put it into “Lost Mode” or erase its contents. All of this can be done by going to the me.com website or using another iOS device with the “Find my iPhone” app. This feature is also an option on most iPads, iPods and Macs. It is not usually enabled from the factory, but setup is fairly easy. It requires having an iCloud account (Apple ID & Password) and enabling the feature on your device via the settings.
